Robert W RobersonMr. Robert Roberson has been working in law since January of 2008. He previously worked in corporate defense for approximately four years. Then, he interned with the Peoria County State’s Attorney’s Office. Mr. Roberson joined Watson Law in December of 2012. He handles the initial drafting of wide-ranging parameters of motions and pleadings on all family and criminal matters for Watson Law. He assists Ms. Watson in preparing cases for trial, speaking with the clients and helping assist in interviewing witnesses, preparing exhibits for trial, assisting at trials and hearings when necessary, conducts legal research for Ms. Watson, fact-finding and investigation when a new issue arises, prepares retirement plan division Orders.

Mr. Roberson regularly attends pertinent Continuing Legal Education (CLE) courses to stay informed on issues that pertain to family and criminal law. He recently attended seminars on: Divorce for Farmers, Military Divorce, Smart Phone and Social Media Evidence in Divorce.

Mr. Roberson has been actively involved in the community, volunteering at pro bono Wills & Estate clinics, volunteering at Foreclosure Mediation sessions as part of the McLean County Foreclosure program, and is an active member of the Central Illinois Paralegal Association (CIPA). He is also currently in the early stages of drafting his first book, which is expected to be a non-fiction historical book.
